Kathy Kruse currently serves as the Associate Dean of Students and the Director of the Office of Student Assistance and Support. Her portfolio includes student support services, crisis response, case management, and bias response. Kathy has over 28 years of experience in student affairs and has previously been employed at Texas Christian University, University of Denver, and North Dakota State University. She has worked in a variety of student affairs functional areas including: orientation, fraternity & sorority life, residence life, student activities, and student conduct. Kathy also worked as a consultant and team leader for Nazarbayev University in Kazakhstan, focusing on student wellness and mental health, first year programs, student leadership, housing and recreational sports. In addition, she is a certified True Colors typology facilitator and has facilitated over 100 presentations for faculty, staff, and students to help them celebrate themselves and understand differences to create inclusive environments. A Minnesota native, Kathy earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of North Dakota and earned master’s degree in Higher Education and Adult Studies from the University of Denver. Students are her passion and student success is her goal!
